Application Information for MSc. by Coursework

For MSc. in Food Science & Human Nutrition by Coursework


  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree (with Honours or its equivalent) majoring in Food Science/Technology/Engineering and Nutrition; or
  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree majoring in Food Science/Technology/Engineering and Nutrition with at least 2 years of relevant work experience; or
  • A recognised Bachelor’s degree majoring in the following areas - chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, agricultural engineering, agricultural product storage and processing, biotechnology, biological sciences, pharmacy, microbiology, nutrition, dietetics, physiology, agriculture and horticulture with at least two years of relevant work experience.


International students whose mother tongue is not English or whose tertiary education is not conducted in English must have a TOEFL score of  ≥85 (Internet-based) or a IELTS score of ≥ 6.0.


Tuition Fees And Payment

Fee is charged on per module (4MCs) basis at SGD 3,330/module (excluding GST and miscellaneous student fees as stipulated by the University).
The research project is worth 12-MC, equivalent to 3 modules; and the fee is SGD 9,990.

Total fee for the entire MSc Programme (40 MCs) will be SGD 33,300 (excluding GST and miscellaneous student fees of $31.65). 

The above tuition fee applies to Singapore Citizens/PRs and International students.

Payment mode:
The fees are payable based on the number of modules registered for that semester. Deadline for payment is at least 2 weeks prior to class commencement. Payment advice will be issued when candidature is confirmed.

  • Cheque or bank draft
  • Internet banking
  • Credit/debit card – via Student Center in myISIS (
  • Telegraphic transfer


Application Procedure


Important: The University has not engage any external agencies to undertake graduate student recruitment on its behalf. Candidates interested in our graduate programmes are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Candidates who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission and the University reserves the right to reject such applications without giving reasons.

Programme intake

There are two intakes per academic year, in August and January. First intake is to commence in Aug 2018. Application for the first intake opens on 1 Dec 2017.
Closing date for August intake (Semester 1): 15 March of the same year
Closing date for January intake (Semester 2): 15 September of the previous year


Only the shortlisted applicants will be advised further. Successful candidates will be notified of the outcome by end June (August intake) or end November (January intake). The result of the application evaluation is final and no appeal will be entertained.
